Why do I like Wedding Dress Cakes? When I was little my beautiful Mum used to make me barbie doll princess cakes for my birthdays! Covered in pink marshmellows, chocloate buds and dripping with sugar pearls, I thought I was the luckies little girl in the world!! Needless to say I still have a soft spot for Gown Cakes and with some of the spectacular Bridal Shower Cake Designs out there, I can’t think of anything prettier to have at your Bridal Shower!!

I’ve visited Bridal Shower Cake shops by the bakers dozen, plunged into baking blogs and viewed hundreds of bridal shower cake pictures. And after that nomtastic task treat, I’ve compiled a list of what I think are the 30 most spectacular Wedding Gown Cakes to be found!
 

After you’ve checked out all the amazing bridal shower cake pictures below, if you’ve decided to have a Wedding Dress Cake made, here’s a few tips!

 

• If possible, take a photo of the bride’s wedding dress to the cake designer and have her create a cake that looks similar to the brides dress.
• If you’re wondering how to get a photo without giving the surprise away ask the Brides mum or sister to get in on the fun and help you out!
• Or; Bridesmaids often help the Bride pick her dress, you’re not a bridesmaid yourself but you’re in charge of the cake, ask one of these ladies to help out with some gown descriptions (or even a sneaky phone photo!).
• If you can’t get a photo or don’t know what the dress looks like yet, but have a general idea of what the bride wants in a dress, take that idea to the cake designer and let her work her magic.
• Be sure to check out other bridal shower cake designs made by your baker (they should have a cake book full of bridal shower cake pictures!) that way you’ll know if they have the skills to create the cake you’re looking for!

So stunning! I honestly thought this was a real wedding dress when I first saw it! The feathers and ruffles are so light and delicate and the edible bead work on the bodice is gorgeous! You could trick the ladies at your Bridal Shower into thinking this was your real dress until you took a nibble out of it!
